Staff scientist / Laboratory head - University of Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Institute

The University of Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Institute and Department of Neurosurgery seek a staff scientist / laboratory head to lead a research effort in brain tumor biology

 

We are looking for a highly motivatedindependent, and career-oriented research scientist with an excellent publication record

 

Preferred Qualifications 

·      PhD in cancer biology, developmental biology, cell biology, neuroscience or related field 

·      hands on experience conducting cellular and animal experiments using zebrafish and/or mouse xenografts. 

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. Strong cellular and molecular biology and animal (zebrafish or mouse) model training are required. Candidates must have first-author publications and a solid publication record. 

 

Research experience in two or more of the following areas are desirable: 

 

·     Zebrafish cancer xenografts and assays of metastasis 

·     Zebrafish development 

·     Mouse cancer xenografts and assays of metastasis 

·     Cell metabolism 

·     Cancer cell biology 

·     In vivo imaging
