Gene Tools, LLC is an established biotech company of 15 employees in the mid- Willamette valley of Western Oregon. Gene Tools produces and markets Morpholino oligos for antisense applications worldwide. We are seeking a Ph.D. biologist for technical customer support, marketing, transaction support and business development. Gene Tools manufactures Morpholino oligos to alter expression of targeted genes. The candidate needs a good molecular biology and gene regulation background ideally with experience using Morpholino oligos, model organisms (e.g. zebrafish, Xenopus, urchin, etc.), microinjection, nucleotide databases, biological & organic chemistry, graphic arts, and technical writing. Key daily tasks will be selection of optimal Morpholino sequences and technical discussions with customers by telephone and email. Expect work in a small team, helping to solve unexpected challenges. The position will involve some travel for exhibiting at conferences and trade shows. Medical and dental plans are available; profit share paid after two years of full-time employment; employer contributes 2% of salary to retirement plan.

Gene Tools is located in a 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/research facility in a rural setting not far from the campus of Oregon State University. Gene Tools, LLC, established in 1997, is a small, family-owned and operated, privately-held biotech company. Because we are a small company, employees have the opportunity to do many different tasks and are relatively self-directed.
