Funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the McMenamin Lab at Boston College! Our Lab uses zebrafish to study skeletogenesis and bone patterning, focusing on the development and regeneration of the fins with relevance to functional evolutionary adaptation.

Boston College is an R1 University, and the Biology Department at BC is composed of 15 NIH- and NSF-funded labs spanning cell and developmental biology, bioinformatics and microbiology. Top-tier core facilities at BC include infrastructure and support for imaging, sequencing, FACS, single-cell RNAseq and more.

Applicants are expected to have a PhD (or a scheduled defense date), experience in development or regenerative biology, excellent scientific communication skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic lab group.

An ideal candidate would have experience single-cell profiling, epigenetic methods, CRISPR injection, electroporation of adult tissues and/or zebrafish development.

Our lab is a highly engaged and supportive environment where mentorship is a priority. Postdocs will be supported in developing their own independent projects while they make progress in the currently funded efforts.
