Job Description:

  • Employ the zebrafish model to investigate protein function associated with cilia and ciliopathy by designing research protocols and collecting and managing data

  • Micro-injection of mRNA, morpholinos, and Crispants (CRISPR-Cas9) into embryos

  • Embryo/cell imaging experiments (fixed and live cell confocal and super resolution microscopy and electron microscopy)

  • Molecular biology (morpholino and CRISPR guide RNA design, cloning, DNA and RNA prep)

  • Biochemical analysis (immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation etc)

  • Screening (genotyping) of transgenic fish lines

  • Documents research results, statistic analysis and interpretation of data, presentation of results in group meeting and participates in publication preparation of results

 

Requirements:

  • Have previous experience in animal models of human diseases, preferably zebrafish or other aquatic animals

  • Must have a PhD or MD

  • Research Fellow position will be considered for candidates with previous postdoc experience
