Postdoctoral Position in RNA-Binding Protein Function, Cifuentes Lab, Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA

A funded postdoctoral position is available for immediate incorporation in the Cifuentes laboratory at Boston University School of Medicine. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate excited to address fundamental questions of RNA regulation in vertebrate systems.

THE PROJECT: The available project capitalizes in a novel method developed in the Cifuentes lab to measure quantitatively protein-RNA interactions in vivo. The goal of the project is to study RNA-binding protein functions during vertebrate development. To address this goal, the lab combines high-throughput genetic, genomic, and proteomic approaches applied to zebrafish and iPSC as primary model systems.

THE LAB: We are located in a new state-of-the art lab facility at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the highly collaborative Department of Biochemistry, with close access to scientific core facilities and immersed in the lively city of Boston, MA. We will provide to the successful candidate a stable environment and the training in experimental design, grant writing, and mentoring necessary to progress into an independent research career in academia or industry.

THE CANDIDATE: Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and at least a first author publication. Strong experience in molecular biology is required and knowledge of computational biology will be a plus, but even more important, is their motivation to learn and adapt to scientific challenges and become positive members of the lab.

TO APPLY: To apply please send a cover letter stating your research interests and accomplishments, CV, and contact information for three references to cifulab@bu.edu. We will review the applications until the position is filled. The position is funded for at least three years, contingent on performance.
