The post
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences / MRC-CMM wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics to support the work of Dr Tetsu Kudoh, Prof Mark Ramsdale and Dr Rhys Farrer. This NC3Rs funded post is available immediately. The successful applicant will be working on sequence analysis of the thermotolerant Arabian killifish as a novel model for infection studies. They will specifically contribute to genomic analyses including genome assembly, annotation, quality control, functional annotation and enrichment and comparative genomics and transcriptomics. Genomic analyses will be published, and be integrated in an online genome browser, that the successful applicant will also ideally contribute towards.

 

About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.

Applicants will have confidence in the application of bioinformatic and a willingness to collaborate with others and share your knowledge and experience to promote the NC3Rs primary objectives.
