Postdoctoral Position in Functional Genomics, Varshney Lab, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City, OK

Join the Varshney Lab on the forefront of zebrafish genetics and disease modeling! We are seeking a talented and driven postdoctoral researcher to work on projects with the potential to transform our understanding of neurodevelopmental and hearing disorders.

We are at the cutting edge of genetic discovery, systematically validating candidate disease genes identified in human studies. By developing and characterizing zebrafish models, we are bridging the gap between genetic insights and therapeutic advancements.

As a key member of our team, you will harness state-of-the-art genomic technologies such as CRISPR base and prime editing, single-cell RNASeq, and high-throughput imaging in zebrafish to functionally characterize the candidate human disease genes. Your work will span a wide range of disciplines, from genetics and genomics to molecular and developmental biology.

We offer a stimulating and supportive research environment where you will work alongside a diverse group of passionate scientists. We value collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to scientific excellence.

Ideal Candidate:

  • You have a recent Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field.

  • You are proficient in molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, and genetics.

  • Essential: You have hands-on experience working with zebrafish.
