Of specific interest to our communityt is Session II (September 9 & 10, 2024)
Development of Sustainable Germplasm Repositories for Aquatic Biomedical Models
(September 9-10, 2024)
The following, upcoming workshop was recently announced by ORIP/NIH. Please sign up and plan to attend, even if just for one or few sessions! ORIP is typically gauging the number of attendants to prioritise their future programs. Researchers that are interested to provide a 2 minute presentation about their cryobanking progress / needs in session 4, please contact zoltan@zebrafish.org or/and YLiu@agcenter.lsu.edu
Additional Information
The workshop organized by ORIP in collaboration with several NIH Institutes—including NCI, NHLBI, NIA, NICHD, and NIGMS—will be conducted as a series of virtual sessions beginning September 6, 2024, and continuing into 2025.
This workshop will provide a critical platform for experts to discuss the needs of cryopreservation and other preservation approaches for widely used animal models in biomedical research, with a specific focus on current and emerging technologies. Your attendance may have important consequences for the future availability of funding for genetic line preservation in laboratiories and resource centers alike. The primary objective is to advance the preservation, maintenance, and sharing of these essential models, ultimately strengthening the infrastructure that supports groundbreaking research.
The event is free. You can register for specific sessions or the entire series at:
