ZFIN Genome Browser Updated to JBrowse2
With the latest ZFIN database release, ZFIN's genome browser has been updated to JBrowse2, and features the most recent zebrafish genome build (GRCz12tu).
As with the previous version of the genome browser, JBrowse2 can be directly accessed via the "Browse Genome" "ZFIN" link on the ZFIN home page, and in the "Genomics" Tab on the top of every page.
The updated browser continues to be displayed on multiple database pages, such as genes, transcripts and genomic feature pages.
Whenever possible, genomic entities such as genes and mutants are shown on the GRCz12tu genomic build.
Other entities such as transcripts and some older mutants are displayed on older genomic builds (Zv9, GRCz10, or GRCz11), but many will be updated in future releases.
Links to extensive help documentation is available through the "Help" tab at the top of the JBrowse2 browser. The Alliance of Genome Resources has released a helpful JBrowse video tutorial (
JBrowse2 at the Alliance ). For additional questions, please contact ZFIN at "zfinadmin@uoregon.edu".
