We from the international working group of Julia Skokowa in Tuebingen, Germany are looking for a Zebrafish Facility Support Technician (40% part-time work) to help with the day-to-day care within our zebrafish facility. Our small fish facility is run by a team of 2-3 people. Candidates will learn to organize their own daily schedule and work independently. Basic knowledge in Excel is needed, German or English is mandatory. There will be daily interaction with the researchers who use the facility. The main responsibilities of this post will be the daily morning and lunch feeding of the fish, including harvesting live food (artemia, brine shrimp), water quality control, help with breeding and maintaining cleanliness in the facility. Ensuring high standards of animal welfare is an integral part of working in the facility. Experience of working with animals, particularly fish, to German Animal Husbandry standards is desirable.
